    Westminster College

In 1858, a group of eight undergraduates formed a secret society at Bethany College. They wrote a constitution, devised a ritual, designed a membership badge, and established a motto for the purpose of their club. These eight men were our founding fathers: Alexander C. Earle, Richard H. Alfred, William R. Cunningham, John L.N. Hunt, Eugene Tarr, John C. Johnson, Henry K. Bell, and Jacob S. Lowe, and their secret society was Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

Today, Delta Tau Delta is an international fraternity consisting of 129 undergraduate chapters and colonies, well over 5,000 undergraduate members, and over 153,000 total initiates. The fraternity promotes a future of excellence that crosses many lifestyles, international backgrounds, financial conditions, and religious beliefs.

    Organization Facts

At the Delta Omicron chapter of Delta Tau Delta we require that you not only do your best in school but in life as well. First and foremost you are at Westminster College to go to school and create bonds that will help you in the future as well as great memories. Therefore, our number one requirement is academic achievement and active involvement. Every house has a little animal house in them; however, it is necessary to have honorable conduct to keep your future intact.

Joining a fraternity is not becoming part of a club or some other extracurricular, it is a choice of lifestyle. We produce men with great integrity, honorability and connections that are beyond belief. Want an internship? Need a job or career? With Delta Tau Delta you already have a foot in the door.

    Chapter Facts

At Delta Tau Delta, it is our goal to make your college experience a memorable one. Academics, athletics, brotherhood, philanthropy, and social life are important aspects of all Delts that make us leaders on campus. It is also important that you find the right fraternity for you, so Delta Tau Delta encourages you to take the time to see what our fraternity has to offer.

    Academics

Academics are a vital part of any fraternity, Delta Tau Delta being no different. In order to be initiated, each new member must meet an academic requirement of a 2.25 GPA. With 2 designated study rooms, a variety of majors within the house, brothers who are tutors for those majors, and brothers who are paid as tutors by the school in the writing lab will take a look at your paper for you. Delta Tau Delta provides everything you need to be successful with your classes. Our house prides itself for the grades we get. We know that college is a short period of a person's life it is a very important part of your life that can lead to success. That is what our house wants for every member and by working together we can do it.

    Philanthropy

Delts encourage personal growth by participating and running programs in the local community and national non-profit organizations. Delts have been a very strong service force in the community and at school. The Delts host blood drives, Adopt-A-Highway, help raise money for United Way, St Jude's Hospital, Special Neighbors, and CARD-V. We also have helped the local community by assisting SERVE, Haven House, Soup Kitchen, Into the Streets, Habitat for Humanity, Rake & Run, Fulton Pride, Little Brother and Little Sister Program. This year we are the winners of the EC Henderson award, given to the group who has shown to be leaders on campus and the community by the Callaway county YMCA. We find the time to do all these activities as a group through our Service-of-the-Week Program, commonly referred to as Service Saturday. Every week, the house tries to find a way to give back to our community.

    Social

By this time, you probably think that our fraternity is all work and no play. Believe me, Delts know how to party. Our philosophy is that if you work hard during the week, then the amount of hard work should equal the amount of fun you should have during the weekend. We have many annual parties, including Delta Force, Foam Party, Delts of Hazzard, Heart On Party, 50's Beach Party, Delta Queen; and these are just our big ones.

"YOU WORK HARD, YOU PLAY HARD"

    Hazing

Delta Tau Delta is against hazing and does not practice hazing due to its detrimental effect on the brotherhood of the house. We believe that forcing uniniated members to do activities that will ridicule them does nothing to strengthen the person or the house. Instead, we are committed to new member education, which consists of teaching the uninitiated members the expectations they will face as an active brother, developing their leadership, and building the bonds of friendship into the brotherhood. New members meet each week with the Pledge Educator to learn about the fraternity and the school. We make the effort to ease the transition from high school to college. We are not here to make the uninitiated members prove themselves to us by holding them to a higher standards than ourselves. We are here to develop the qualities we identified when we asked them to join the house and challenge them to grow as a person. That is the Delt's Commitment to a life of Excellence.

    Cost

Our fraternity is self-supported by our members. The total cost per semester is about $3000 to cover room and board. Our price is cheaper than living at the school's dorms and eating at their cafeteria.
